    This talk discusses the research monograph Diasporic Hallyu: The Korean Wave in Korean Canadian Youth Culture (Yoon, 2022), which draws on an ethnographic study of young Canadians of Korean heritage and their engagement with the Korean Wave phenomenon. The book proposes a critical understanding of the interactions between diasporic audiences and popular culture. By examining the Korean Wave as diasporic cultural practices rather than the diffusion of national cultural products, the book explores the diversified ways in which cultural flows are negotiated by young audiences who take up relatively ambivalent reception positions between two or more national and cultural contexts.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
